From day one, I never thought that Colin would play in the NFL again after he knelt during the playing of the National Anthem. Frankly, I have been shocked that he and others thought otherwise. I was and still remain on board with his protest. America made his protest about something other than the intent- purposely. They knew what he was protesting, but did not and do not care. However, the NFL has sought to make an example out of him- by metaphorically beating, him publically for the rest can see what happens to those who buck the system. Hence, his wearing of the kente cloth, I heard, for his workout, I deduce.
The NFL colluded to keep Colin out of the NFL, hence the settlement. The NFL is a business- they have lawyers. Businesses do not give away money- save for those sometimes indistinct tax write-offs to charity. The NFL wouldn’t give Kap a dime if he dropped it out of his pocket- out of principle alone. Therefore, we can ascertain that they colluded to keep him out of the league.
Recently, the NFL supposedly decided that they would give him an opportunity and invite him for a workout, in which it seems like they were merely playing games, but Colin obliged and took the offer. However, he and his team decided that they would not fall in the folly of the NFLs trap for filming, interviewing, signing their waiver or whatever else they were attempting, therefore Colin and his team decided to change venues at the last minute.
Most said that Colin looked great with great arm strength, but to date he still has no suitors for his services. Which, I expected. Colin in his pos- interview had some choice words for Goddell and the NFL owners requesting that they do the right thing. “I’ve been ready for three years. I’ve been denied for three years. We all know why,” said Colin.
Later he said, Roger Goodell, all of them to stop running. Stop running from the truth, stop running from the people.”
Colin knows that his statements will never get the NFL and the owners to budge- right foot in- right foot out. The NFL knows that no owner will ever sign him- left foot in- left foot out. However, maybe it was a swan song for both- for Kap to show the world the real reason why they didn’t sign him and the NFL to say – see you don’t want this distraction. However, this swan song we’ve seen- I just don’t remember it being the Hokie Pokie.
